Catherine Ryan Hyde, one of my favourite American authors,  produced this wonderful short video last year http://www.youtube.com/user/cryanhyde .  In it she reads the first chapter of her book 'Love in the Present Tense', her voice- over together with the images of gritty American street scenes marry perfectly.  It's so good you'll be completely hooked.......
